200 WINS FOR COACH BIRCHFIELD!

Congratulations to Kearney High School Head Softball Coach Katelyn Birchfield, who earned her 200th career victory with the Bulldogs in KHS’s 4-2 win over Smithville!
The Bulldogs had to battle for this milestone victory. After falling behind 2-0 early, KHS broke through with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ellie Switzer and Ava Peterson each drove in a run, while Jacklyn Kirkland delivered a two-run single to put the Bulldogs ahead for good.
Reghan Lueken went the distance in the circle, allowing just five hits and striking out seven over seven innings. The win moved KHS to 8-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Win No. 200 represents a tremendous milestone for Coach Birchfield and the KHS Softball program she has helped build. Congratulations to Coach Birchfield, her players and everyone who has been part of the journey to 200!
Go Bulldogs!
