Kearney High School students have a new opportunity to gain real-world experience, build valuable career skills and get paid while they learn!

Kearney School District is now offering DESE Registered Youth Apprenticeships for students through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These apprenticeships connect students with local businesses for structured, hands-on learning that can help them explore career pathways while still in high school.

We are proud to share that Summers Pharmacy is our first registered business partner for this program, offering students an apprenticeship pathway as pharmacy support staff. We have also started the registration process with Gary Crossley Ford as we continue expanding opportunities for our Bulldogs.

This is exactly what career readiness is all about: helping students discover what they’re good at, connect their learning to life beyond high school and take meaningful steps toward their future.

Huge thanks to KSD Career Readiness Coordinator Emmy Berry, our KHS team, Summers Pharmacy, Gary Crossley Ford, the Missouri Apprenticeship Team and the Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center for helping make this happen. We’re excited to see this program grow and open even more doors for our students.

Great schools. Great community. Great opportunities for Bulldogs!
