Southview Bulldogs Build Careers

We’re catching up on a good one from Southview Elementary!
On May 19, Southview fifth-graders had the opportunity to take part in Career Day, learning from guests who shared about their work, their paths and the skills it takes to be successful in a wide range of fields. Events like this are such a great example of how Southview’s project-based learning focus helps students connect what they are learning in school with the world around them.
Southview Assistant Principal Kirsten Lewis said it well: “Dr. Parks’ leadership and vision with PBL has left an impact on staff and students. The drive our staff has to implement PBL starting at the kindergarten level and building upon it each year is fostering students with lifelong skills.”
That legacy was easy to see during Career Day. Our fifth-graders asked questions, made connections and started thinking a little more deeply about the many possibilities ahead of them.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible for our Bulldogs!
