Summer School Sparks Curiosity at KHS

Kearney School District students are getting some hands-on experience with the power of science this week!

I had a chance to stop by Michael Wernimont’s summer school classroom at KHS yesterday, where students were busy wiring up model homes as part of this week’s “Exploring Electricity” theme. They were testing circuits, solving problems and seeing firsthand how electrical systems help make our everyday lives work.

It was a great reminder that summer school isn’t just about keeping skills sharp. It’s also a chance for students to explore, create and discover something new.
