Kearney High School’s robotics team, KEARNAGE, wrapped up an outstanding season with another strong performance at the Green Country Regional in Tulsa, Okla.
The team earned the Industrial Design Award, which recognizes a robot that shows an impressive balance of form, function and aesthetics. This was KEARNAGE’s second team award of the season and marked the first time since the program began in 2008 that the team earned awards at back-to-back competitions.

KEARNAGE also advanced to the elimination rounds for the second consecutive competition, another first in team history. The team ranked 24th out of 46 teams in Tulsa and was selected to join an alliance with teams from Broken Arrow, Okla., and Alexandria, Minn.
This year’s KEARNAGE team included 26 students led by Team Captain Mary Shaw. Coach Dave Zurliene shared that he is especially proud of how this young team continued to grow, support each other and represent Kearney with skill, spirit and teamwork throughout the season.
Congratulations to our KEARNAGE students, coaches, mentors and families on an incredible season! We are proud of you!
