The PRiME Center at Saint Louis University recently recognized two Kearney School District schools as among Missouri’s best for student growth in the 2024-2025 academic year. Kearney Junior High earned statewide Growth Awards in both English Language Arts and Mathematics, while Southview Elementary was recognized for three-year English Language Arts growth.

In the statewide data set, Southview’s three-year ELA growth ranked No. 9 in Missouri, while Kearney Junior High ranked No. 12 statewide in 2025 ELA growth and No. 15 statewide in 2025 math growth.

Those honors are outstanding, and they reflect the hard work of students, teachers, staff and families.

At the same time, these recognitions are part of a bigger story across our district. The same statewide data also showed strong results at other KSD schools, including Kearney Middle School ranking No. 46 statewide in three-year math growth and Dogwood Elementary ranking No. 227 statewide in 2025 ELA growth. The data also reflects the steady, important work happening every day at Hawthorne Elementary and Kearney Elementary as our schools continue helping students grow year after year.

Student growth matters because it shows the progress students are making over time. We are proud to see that work reflected across KSD, and we congratulate the students and staff members at every school who helped make these results possible.
