Kearney School District is proud to announce that Mindy Gray, Kearney Middle School teacher, has been named the 2017 Outstanding Project Lead The Way Gateway Teacher. Gray has been with the Kearney School District since 2006 where she began her role as the district’s Gateway to Technology instructor.
Gray was one of seven individuals and business partners that were recognized for their outstanding service to Project Lead The Way, their school district, and their students. Each was nominated and chosen by a committee of their peers and honored at an awards banquet held in conjunction with the annual Missouri Project Lead the Way Conference held on November 5-6.
Within the Project Lead The Way program, Gateway to Technology is designed for middle school students. This level of the program is designed to illuminate the range of paths and possibilities students can look forward to in high school and beyond. Students apply knowledge and skill from a variety of disciplines. They tackle challenges such as improving toys for younger children and designing and modeling energy sources that impact our environment. Students learn to test their limits and connect what they learn in the classroom to making a real-world impact.
