The Bulldogs are celebrating an outstanding performance by the Kearney High School Boys Wrestling team at the 2026 MSHSAA Class 3 District 4 Tournament in Belton.

The Bulldogs competed Friday and Saturday in a highly competitive tournament that quickly turned into a two-team battle between KHS and St. Michael the Archangel. Kearney trailed throughout much of the event, but the team responded in a big way when it mattered most.

Both teams advanced eight wrestlers to the championship finals, setting up an exciting finish. The Bulldogs rose to the moment and won six of the eight finals matches, including several key head-to-head falls over St. Michael, to secure a tie for the District Championship in the final match of the tournament.

The Bulldogs finished the tournament with an impressive showing across the board:

  • 9 state qualifiers
  • 8 finalists
  • 6 district champions
  • All 13 wrestlers advanced to Day 2 and contributed team points
Congratulations to the following Class 3 State Qualifiers:
