KHS FFA Students Cultivate Success

Kearney High School FFA students continue to amaze us with what they’re learning and doing beyond the classroom.
On Wednesday, Feb. 11, eight KHS FFA students submitted Proficiency Award applications for judging at the Area 2 Proficiency Night in Chillicothe. Proficiency Awards recognize students with outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. This includes the real-world, hands-on work our students take on outside of class in specific agriculture career pathways.
"These applications are judged by agriculture teachers from across the area and are scored based on things like money earned, hours worked, skills attained, and job responsibilities," KHS Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor Erica Hart said. "It’s one of my favorite reminders that FFA doesn’t just happen during the school day. Our students are building skills, confidence, and career experience in the real world."
