Kearney School District’s kindergarten enrollment opens on Monday, Feb. 2, for the 2026-2027 academic year. If you have a child who will be age five on or before July 31, 2026, this will be the time to enroll them in kindergarten!

We will email and post information about how to enroll on Feb. 2; updates will also be available on our website. Parents/guardians will be required to provide their own government-issued identification and a birth certificate, a record of required immunizations and proof of residence for their child during kindergarten enrollment. Use our online district boundary map to locate the elementary school your child will attend. Questions can be emailed to reghelp@ksdr1.net.

Get Fired Up at the 2026 Winter Spirit Clinic!

Kearney High School’s Golden Girls and Cheer Squad are inviting our youngest Bulldogs to get “All Dolled Up for the Bulldogs” at the Winter Spirit Clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, at KHS.

This clinic is open to kindergarten through 5th-grade students and is a fun chance to learn cheer/dance basics, pick up some new spirit moves, and spend an evening with our KHS student leaders.

The cost is $55 per participant (with sibling discounts available), and participants will also have the opportunity to perform during halftime of the KHS varsity Boys Basketball game. You can register by scanning the QR code on the flyer or visiting the event website at tinyurl.com/3tvjphvy.

KHS Basketball Hosting 2026 Youth Night on Jan. 30

Kearney High School's basketball teams are inviting our youngest hoopers to pack the Bulldog Fieldhouse for Youth Night this Friday, Jan. 30, when our Girls and Boys teams host Grandview. Varsity Girls tip off is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity Boys at 7 p.m. It’s a fun chance for our youth players to see Bulldog basketball up close, cheer on our teams, and be part of a great night in the Fieldhouse.

Youth basketball players who wear their Parks & Rec, Upward, AAU or youth team jersey/uniform will receive FREE admission, and each student wearing a jersey will also get one free popcorn. Bring the family, wear your purple and gold, and help us create an awesome home atmosphere for our Bulldogs!

The Harlem Wizards Are Coming to Bulldog Nation!

The KSD Education Foundation (KSDEF) is excited to introduce a brand-new community event this spring, the Harlem Wizards basketball fundraiser, coming to Kearney High School on Saturday, April 11, 2026!

The Harlem Wizards are known nationwide for their high-energy blend of basketball skill, comedy, and audience interaction. This family-friendly event promises laughter, incredible tricks, and unforgettable moments as students, staff, and community members come together to celebrate Bulldog pride.

As KSDEF’s first Harlem Wizards event, this game marks an exciting new chapter for the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. Proceeds from the event will support KSDEF’s mission of enhancing educational opportunities for Kearney students through classroom innovation grants, student programs, and scholarships.

KSDEF hopes this inaugural Wizards game becomes a new Kearney tradition, one that brings the community together while directly supporting students and teachers across the district. Join us on Saturday, April 11, at KHS!

Visit the Harlem Wizards' website or scan the QR code for tickets.

KJH Boys Basketball Championship Caps A Great Season

It was a memorable championship week to cap off an outstanding season for our Kearney Junior High Boys Basketball program!

"All three teams delivered remarkable performances and achieved significant milestones," Head Coach Kelly Gentry said. "I am very proud of our players, student assistants, coaches, staff, school, community, parents and fans."

The A Team brought home the hardware in a major way, winning three games in three days to capture the Greater Kansas City Championship title in the top (Gold) bracket and finish as the overall GKC Champions. The team finished 14–1 overall (best record in the GKC Metro), earning both the Regular Season and Postseason Tournament Championships. They also posted an 11–1 regular season record, secured the Suburban North Conference title, earned the #2 seed in the top GKC bracket (out of 40 A teams), and were the last undefeated team in GKC regular season play.
