KHS Choir Excels at District Auditions

On Saturday, Sept. 13, a contingent of Kearney High School students traveled to Missouri Western State University to represent KHS at the NWMCDA District Choir Auditions. To compete, students need to sing a solo, identify key signatures, and sight sing for adjudicated scores. Top scores are selected into the All-District Choir and will perform with all of the students from the Northwest region of Missouri on Oct. 25. Juniors and seniors who make the ensemble also move on to the next round to audition for All-State Choir. The Bulldog singers all performed exceptionally well, and all 32 of our students received All-District Honors! View a list of all the honorees.

Explore the New Kearney Elementary & Support Our Foundation!

Bulldog community members are invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the Kearney School District Education Foundation and tour the recently improved facilities at Kearney Elementary from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22!

The breakfast will include all-you-can-eat pancakes (while supplies last), plus a serving of breakfast sausage for each guest, along with milk and water. Tickets are $8 for children age 10 and under and $10 for all other guests. Proceeds will help support the foundation's grants and scholarships that directly benefit our students, including sponsorship of Kearney High School's Education Internship program, where we are growing our future teachers!

With the start of the new school year last month, Kearney Elementary unveiled extensive additions and upgrades that were completed as part of KSD's voter-approved Prop B capital improvement bond. This work included additional classrooms, a new library, new collaborative learning spaces, and upgrades to the front office, support facilities and safety. Similar projects have been completed at all four of KSD's elementary schools.

Stay Warm and Support Our Students with A Bulldog Blanket!

Kearney High School's National Honor Society is bringing back their amazing NubaySoft ™ D-Luxe Blankets! By using your blankets at home, at the park or at the game, their goal is to help student families feel included and connected to our great school culture. This will not only be fun for the community, but it will help NHS achieve its fundraising goals as well! They are hoping for delivery by the first week of December, as there is a 6-8 week production time. Pre-paid order pricing is just $70 each from Aug. 15 - Sept. 30. On Oct. 1, the price will change to $80 per blanket, so reserve and pay for your blanket today! Please contact KHS teacher Sara Burgener with any questions.
