Bulldogs vs. Smithville Football is Tonight!

Our Kearney High School Varsity Football team faces Highway 92 rivals Smithville starting at 7 p.m. tonight at Bulldog Stadium! This game will feature great on-field action in addition to performances by the KHS Marching Band, Cheer Squad and Golden Girls! Visit the Hometown online box office to purchase tickets! GO BULLDOGS!

Stay Warm and Support Our Students with A Bulldog Blanket!

Kearney High School's National Honor Society is bringing back their amazing NubaySoft ™ D-Luxe Blankets! By using your blankets at home, at the park or at the game, their goal is to help student families feel included and connected to our great school culture. This will not only be fun for the community, but it will help NHS achieve its fundraising goals as well! They are hoping for delivery by the first week of December, as there is a 6-8 week production time. Pre-paid order pricing is just $70 each from Aug. 15 - Sept. 30. On Oct. 1, the price will change to $80 per blanket, so reserve and pay for your blanket today! Please contact KHS teacher Sara Burgener with any questions.

Public Notice: Tax Rate Hearing

The Kearney School District Board of Education will hold a Tax Rate Hearing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the District Administrative Office, which is located at 425 W. Washington St., Kearney, MO. This public hearing is an opportunity for community members to learn about and comment on the proposed property tax rates for the 2025 tax year, which fund our district’s operating budget and support student learning. KCTV5 Showcases KHS Girls Wrestling

Kearney High School's Girls Wrestling program was recently spotlighted by KCTV5. Digital Content Producer Katie Byrd interviewed Head Coach Nick Ward and Assistant Coach Lexie Cole, who was a champion wrestler at KHS. The program is about 20 minutes and dives into the positive impact that the program has had on our athletes, coaches, school and the district as a whole. KHS Girls Tennis vs. Raytown

The Kearne High School Varsity Girls Tennis team faced Raytown on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at home. The Bulldogs won 5-4 after a long-fought match. JV followed quickly with an 8-1 win as well. Click the link below for more results and photos.

Southview Huddles Up!

Southview Elementary students participated in a sorting this morning at Bulldog Stadium as they gathered into their new Huddle Up teams for the 2025-2026 academic year! The Huddle Up program is practiced at all four of our elementary schools. It combines students from every grade level into small teams to promote positive relationships, support and mentorship. After joining their new teams, the Southview students broke out into a dance party! Follow the link below for more photos.

Explore the New Kearney Elementary & Support Our Foundation!

Bulldog community members are invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the Kearney School District Education Foundation and tour the recently improved facilities at Kearney Elementary from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22! 

The breakfast will include all-you-can-eat pancakes (while supplies last), plus a serving of breakfast sausage for each guest, along with milk and water. Tickets are $8 for children age 10 and under and $10 for all other guests. Proceeds will help support the foundation's grants and scholarships that directly benefit our students, including sponsorship of Kearney High School's Education Internship program, where we are growing our future teachers!

With the start of the new school year last month, Kearney Elementary unveiled extensive additions and upgrades that were completed as part of KSD's voter-approved Prop B capital improvement bond. This work included additional classrooms, a new library, new collaborative learning spaces, and upgrades to the front office, support facilities and safety. Similar projects have been completed at all four of KSD's elementary schools.

Girls Golf Wins Lawson Tournament

The KHS Varsity Girls Golf team competed in two tournaments this week. On Wednesday, the girls headed to Hidden Valley Golf Course to compete in the Lawson Invitational Tournament. Kearney won the tournament with a 354 team score.

On Thursday, the girls headed to Hodge Park Golf Course to compete in the Staley Invitational Tournament. Kearney finished in 7th place with a 360 team score.
