Congratulations to our Girls Wrestling State Champions

Congratulations to our girl’s wrestling team for winning the state championship. Riley Walker finished her incredible freshman campaign with a 4th-place finish at 105 lbs. Junior Bailey Martin at 110 lbs worked through the backside of the bracket to finish 3rd in the state. She is now a 2x state medalist. Junior Savannah McDowell at 120lbs, ranked 23rd coming in and finished as a state medalist in 4th place. Senior Hailey Romero at 170 lbs and leader of the bulldogs had the highest finish for the bulldogs as state runner-up. Combined efforts led the team to a state championship title.

GOLDEN GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONS X2

Congratulations to our Golden Girls for winning back-to-back state championships. Solosists competed on Friday with over 60 solo competitors. Our senior solos included 2nd place Sophia Brown, 3rd place Eden Irsik, and 11th place Madelyn Duncan. Junior Solo included 2nd place, Sophia Frank. Team results included 1st place Precision Jazz, 1st place Pom, and 1st place Overall State Champions Division 3! Congratulations to Avery Aller, Sophia Brown, Grace Daily, Madelyn Duncan, Chloe Ferris, Sophia Frank, Emery Glennon, Mia Grisham, Eden Irsik, Lilly Liberty, Taylor Ross, Kennedy Slaughter, Aubrey Taylor, and Arie Watkins.

STATE WRESTLING CHAMPION

Ryder Shelton won his 2nd state title in the 113 lbs wrestling class

Congratulations to our boy’s wrestling team for finishing 15th out of 43 teams. Qualifiers included Jase Jackson, Jak Gist, and Ryder Shelton. 2x State champion Ryder Shelton at 113 lbs and 4th place Jak Gist at 190 lbs. 

STATE GIRLS SWIMMING

Congratulations to our state swimmers. The girl’s swim/dive team traveled to St. Louis over the weekend to compete in the Class 1 State Meet. Out of the 50 teams that traveled to St. Louis for Class 1, the girls came home in 32nd place with just 3 entries! Our Diver, Anna Williams finished in 10th place and our 200 freestyle relay finished 29th and our 400 freestyle relay would have finished 26th place if not for a questionable disqualification. Both relays were made up of Ruby Dunn, Jillian Bonderer, Ava Gable, and Claire Woehrman.

SENIOR NIGHT

Congratulations to our senior boys and girls basketball players. Boy’s seniors included Carter Prather and Braxton Page, and the girl’s seniors included Jadyn Barnes and Maddi Stevens(Pictured Below).

COLLEGE SIGNINGS

Congratulations to Ava Lawless, Maddi Stevens, and Elysia Hand. They celebrated their college signing this month and we wish them the best next year!

Maddi Stevens – Southwest Baptist University – Soccer

College Signing Information

Kearney High School offers an on-campus celebration for those athletes that will be continuing their collegiate careers. If athletes are interested in celebrating on campus please choose your dates from the options listed below. We are limited to 6 athletes per signing. Forms are available blow or in the Activity Office and are due one week prior to the signing date.

COLLEGE SIGNING FORM

KEARNEY ATHLETIC COMMITMENT FORM AND MSHSAA ANNUAL FORMS NOW ONLINE!

Online forms are now available for your student / athlete to participate in Kearney School District Activities. 

Please read the Kearney Activities Handbook. Once you have read and understand the information provided please open up the Kearney activities Commitment form and either sign online or print out, sign and return to the Kearney Activities Department.

The MSHSAA Annual Requirements form is a form that must be signed before the student  / athlete can participate in activities. Please open up the attached MSHSAA Annual Requirements and sign online. A current physical must be completed and filed with the Kearney activities department. Physicals are good for 2 years from the date of the physician’s signature.

PHYSICALS: Physicals are now good for 2 years from the date of the physicians signature.   An annual participation form (3 Pages) is also required every year. The annual participation form does not need to be completed by a physician. All forms need to be turned into the athletic office or your coach before you are able to participate in practice, tryouts, or events. All the forms are below.
