Coach Darla Moberly:
How one overcomes adversity and achieves goals says much about their character and Tyler Pedee has done both in his high school running career. As a freshman, he ran a 21:27 5K for his first high school cross country race. Upon overcoming an injury during cross country his junior year, he was able to race at the end of the season, helping his team to a conference championship. His senior season was one for the record books as he placed 36th overall at state and ran a personal best of 16:11.9. Perseverance, maturity and hard work enabled him to take over 5 minutes off his 5K time—Impressive!!! Despite losing his senior track season, he has persisted in training during the quarantine and is looking forward to continuing his running career in college. This Eagle Scout and 2020 Kearney High School graduate is resilient and will find success as a Rockhurst running Hawk! Congratulations Tyler.

Maddie is such a level headed and calm young woman, on and off the field. Her drive to succeed and commitment to improvement in everything she does will ensure her success in life. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Maddie at Northwest.
Maddie is a warrior. She is a player that you can count on in any situation to play anywhere on the field and do it at an extremely high level. She was also one of those players that her teammates looked to for leadership and stability. Maddie is just an all-around great soccer player and person.
