The Loss of School Board Vice President Haney
NewsComments Off on The Loss of School Board Vice President Haney
A deep loss is being felt around this district and our family-like community. KSD received word Wednesday that KSD’s Board of Education Vice President, Ed Haney, passed away. The heavy-hearted news of his passing brings to the forefront his generosity to this district.
Mr. Haney was elected to the board of education in April of 2006 and recently elected vice president. He was appointed by the board to be the KSD delegate for the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA). He was an active volunteer for the Kearney School District Education Foundation and served as the school board liaison for the past six years. He was an advocate for gifted education, fine arts and the foreign exchange student program. He also served on the Kearney Parks and Recreation board for 21 years.
Mr. Haney is the husband of long-time teacher Lisa Haney who retired from KSD.
We cherish each moment he spent advocating and cheering for our students and staff. The immeasurable acts of service and support Mr. Haney has provided to this school district will never be forgotten.
Once A Bulldog, Always A Bulldog.
