The Kearney School District (KSD) is pleased to announce the results of the Annual Performance Report (APR) released by The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This report is based on academic achievement, subgroup achievement, attendance, graduation rates as well as college and career readiness for the entire district. KSD received an exemplary score of 97.9% for the 2015-2016 school year.

The district’s overall APR score continues to be one of the highest among our peer groups and across the state.

The APR shows how well each school and school district is meeting the state’s education standards, and it is vitally important because it is used to review and accredit districts.

Across the district individual school rankings also proved to be performing very successfully. All of the schools received rankings higher than the state average of 90% and Dogwood Elementary received an impressive score of 100%.

There are many other noteworthy areas that contributed to the district’s overall APR score. The following information displays the % of students that tested at proficient and advanced on the MAP test and where KSD ranks compared to our peer school districts:

  • 1st at 82.1% – 3rd grade English Language Arts (ELA)
  • 1st at 82.2% – 5th grade MAP ELA
  • 2nd at 80.9% – 4th grade MAP ELA
  • 2nd at 73.1% – 3rd grade MAP Math
