Welcome to the Kearney School District and the 2015-2016 school year. If you are reading this informational newsletter, you likely have a vested interest in some aspect of our schools. Whether you are a student, parent, grandparent or community member, it is important for you to know all of us working at KSD could not be more proud of our schools! The employees of the Kearney School District have varied and wide-ranging job descriptions, but all of us are motivated by one thing—helping students succeed.
Kearney Schools have an outstanding reputation for quality. All indicators of success, such as test scores, graduation rates and graduate placements, are the best around, but we’re not stopping there. Our mission is “the pursuit of excellence” so that every student will be successful. Indeed, it is what we call Bulldog Pride that drives us toward achieving such a lofty goal.
If you don’t already have it, we want you too to feel a sense of Bulldog Pride, and it’s easy to get. Just encourage the students you know to do their very best and to be involved in school and school activities. You see, even though KSD employees are dedicated to achieving our mission, we can’t do it without the support of the Kearney and Holt communities. That’s because students do their best when they have adults in their lives giving them positive encouragement. So, your role is to encourage those students you encounter in our two communities to work hard in school and to get involved in school activities both during school and outside of the school day.
I know that with all of us dedicated to helping district children, we will not only spread Bulldog Pride, we will ensure the success of each and every student now and into the future.
